Competition Belt Sander: Update (First Run with Belts)

Screen shot 2014-10-25 at 7.08.16 PM

With less than a week to go, (6 days, 16 hours and an assortment of minutes) the sander is coming together.  This video shows it in the first run with belts on it, wheelie bars and the pack and weight distribution set up the way it’s going to run.  Don’t worry, by the third run I had the belt adhesive thing down.  If you want to know how to keep a belt on a 3000rpm belt sander, I’m your man.

  1. When you bring it to the belt sander competition, they are going to need a concrete traffic barrier to stop it! Are the tires pressurized? if so, will balancing the pressure help it launch straighter?

    • If they let me run it, it will be a clear example of gross negligence and reckless abandon. 😉

And yes, the tire pressures are balanced, and on a proper track it should go pretty straight. Road testing it today.
