Fear and Loathing in Florida

Well, kids.  A tough day in Florida.  It seems the tire damage and resultant vibration may have caused stress on the motor, resulting in this.

It’s a sound painful to listen to, yes.  Even more painful for it’s implications.

Terry’s rule: If you are just riding, nothing ever breaks. When you are racing across country to break a record, everything that can go wrong, will. We are on the western tip of Florida, doing some motor diagnosis.

This electric motor has done double duty (twice the rated weight, and double the amps) for longer than most gas bike engines go without a rebuild.

Last I heard, we’re waiting for news from Zero – possibly motors coming in overnight, or not.  We really don’t know.
