Tire plugged, keepin’ it under 65, they’ve crossed the Mississippi border, as of 6:15 or so EST today.  On the way they christened a brand-new Chargepoint station at Cleco Power in Mandeville LA.  Here’s a shot of that, with the crew.

I’ve got to say, there’s something about this shot.  It’s really the first time I’ve got a sense of how large that bike is.  I can only imagine what a handful it is to ride.

They were able to plug the tire – there aren’t any motorcycle shops around that could lift a 1000lb+ bike to change the tire conventionally, not to mention just rolling the bike into most motorcycle shops in the first place.  The tire’s in pretty tough shape – apparently some belts slipped or broke when they were riding it flat, and it’s got a bulge or two.  Terry had to do some trimming to some of the sheet metal to keep it from rubbing.  Terry describes it as a “bumpy ride”.

Right now they’re a little short of 500 miles from Jacksonville.
