Yeah, Texas, Willie Nelson, you knew I had to use that title, right? Here’s some more Texas music for your coffee and donuts this morning.
They wrapped up a 12-hour day of work at around 2AM this morning and hit the road around 4AM EST. At this point, they’re just outside of Houston charging on 110V outside a motel, and taking a nap… between the cold and the rush-hour traffic into town, (not to mention no sleep for over 20 hours) Terry opted for a timely stop. It looks like they’ll hit Houston around 10AM EST.
Just a little look at what one of these stops looks like. Think Terry’s running on adrenaline? Needs to stretch his legs? Maybe?
Weather for today looks good, though right now it’s clear and cold.
Oh, just a little followup with Terry and the Texas Rangers – apparently our smooth-talkin’ hero got out with a warning. Once he got telling them about the bike and all, they were pretty chill.
Luckily they liked the bike and sent me on my way. They got to see pictures of the Zero police bikes I showed them. Lots to talk about.
They really thought the bike was cool!
(Terry Hershner and Chelsea Liggatt hit the road officially at 2:21 PM EST Friday, Nov. 15 2013 from San Diego CA headed for Jacksonville, FL in hopes of breaking several cross-country Electric Vehicle and Electric Motorcycle World records. Follow them here, and at Off The Grid on Facebook and Off The Grid Live.)
