…and here’s the deal:
Yeah thats right, bitches. $2000 off, and for a new bike. Damn good thing I don’t live down there. The Zero dealer up in these parts still has a 2012 model on the floor, with no signs of getting rid of it.
How do you help a customer make a decision about purchasing a ~$10K product when stuff like this happens? Hell, I can’t even decide what the smart move is here. Buy the last year’s model, knowing it’s completely outstripped by this year’s model? Buy this year’s model knowing that maybe next year the same thing is going to happen – that is, either your bike will be automatically worth $2000 less, or something is going to come out that is just sheer awesomeness and you won’t be able to buy it?
I guess you just have to resign yourself to the facts of life on the bleeding edge of technology. I think if it were me, I’d go for the 2014 model, because it’s a quantum leap… or, pick up a 2012, strip it and do a Proper cafe build of it.
…yeah. THAT’s the ticket…
(Thanks to my interwebs EV spies for the tip. You know who you are. May your coefficient of drag ever drop…)
