Finally, I’ve got the modules built, installed, and running. (Note I didn’t say anything about “securely” or “properly”. There’s time for that later…)
The CALB packs, from Mike Corbin (Yes. THAT Mike Corbin, of Corbin Sparrow and not to mention other electric motorcycle fame) are beastly. They have more voltage sag than the lipo pack I was running, but they pull like there’s no tomorrow, and the luxury of a 40-odd mile range is something I’m not going to give up any time soon.

Now, to figure out why my new laptop running VMWare and Windows XP won’t see that damned USB-serial cable, and let me re-program the controller for a lower minimum voltage and I’ll be just ducky. (A few times in the video you can hear sort of a low grinding noise… that’s the controller dipping below 60V, the highest low-voltage setting, which was set up for the RC lipo.)
