Want to see about as far under the hood as you can see, behind the 100mph/100mile range of the Brammo Empulse? Courtesy of the boyz at Hell for Leather*, feast your eyes. You’re looking at a 8ah lipo cell that makes up the Brammo Power pack.
Yes bitches. A whole bunch of these go into this:
…which goes into this:
So uh, yeah. Probably a little more agressive QA than the RC lipo, but we’re talking the same chemistry. One can only assume they’re satisfied with the various concerns… safety, cycle life, reliability. Like that.

What kind of cell it is ? LiPoFe4 ?
The tech for this new breed of motorbikes is sexy ! Simple and sexy !
No moving parts, just pure power !
No, it’s lithium polymer, or “lipo” – the same chemistry used in radio-control planes and such. Yes- pure power indeed!
1. I don’t see any Brammo batteries in your 2nd photo.
2. What makes you say the batteries are Lithium Polymer? The official Empulse specs say otherwise: http://www.brammo.com/empulse_specifications/
1. Those aren’t battery modules? ummmm.. Look a little closer.
2. 3.7V = lipo. (“Brammo Power™ BPM15/90 Lithium-Ion ( NCM Chemistry)” = Marketing.)
update: See most recent post for a little clarification. They are lipo. They’re not what is commonly known as “RC lipo”. https://evmc2.wordpress.com/2012/08/20/brammo-empulse-runs-linicomno2-or-ncm-not-lipo/
