frodus Tests Batteries, The EV World Holds it’s Breath

Travis Gintz, aka “frodus” on ElMoto.net and elsewhere, has taken to his Evil Mad Scientist Lab-OR-atory to get some actual test data on an assortment of very popular cells:  “A123, Kokam, Turnigy, Lifebatt, Lifetech, BMI, PSI, DLG, K2…etc.”  The test is based on a 400W constant load, which will adjust the current to adapt to the drop in voltage as the cells heat and drop.

You can follow his progress on the thread here on ElMoto: 400W constant current battery test setup, but you can’t see his result graphs unless you sign in…  He also has a great blog here, where he has a teaser from September about the testing.  His photo gallery is here, maybe he’ll post the graphs…

Great stuff, Travis!
