Tesla just announced the Supercharger network, a series of charging stations capable of delivering a full charge in a half-hour. Read more here: Tesla’s Supercharger page.
This is as much a game-changer as the idea many Nissan dealers have to offer weekend rental cars for people who want to go on those long weekend trips. Since they’re claiming to place them in spots that you actually want to visit, and maybe even spend some time, “roadside diners, cafes, and shopping centers”, it’s not a far-fetched idea that you’d actually find it convenient, maybe even enjoyable, getting a charge… and are free to use for any Tesla owner.
