I’ve been holding back, trying to temper my enthusiasm and excitement, but I can’t take it… Here’s the bike (dubbed the “zombie fembot”, by the way, courtesy of my wife and son. Teresa: “You’re not working on a motorcycle down there, you’re building a fembot!”, and, Tyler: “Electric motorcycles have no soul.” The “Zombie Fembot” seemed like a shoo-in…)
Anyway, I ended up with the 22Ah AGM cells, at “half-U1″ size, more as an experiment than anything else, but also as a way to get the thing rolling, keep the weight down, see what 20Ah is good for, range-wise (planning for the Headway lithium cells) and have some fun. The whole idea is a modular battery rack- easily adaptable for whatever battery pack comes along. Here it is:
More to come, including complete details of the final build, specs and performance numbers… but as Uncle Sudsy said, I’m 12 crimps away from going for a ride!
